George Laidlaw

Starting working life in 2007, I began building a career right at the start of the financial crash. This imprinted on me the impact of poor financial planning and the importance of taking action when looking to the future. I have always been interested in people. My experiences to date have helped me to understand what’s important to the individual, and my training in banking and with St. James’s Place has given me the skills to help deliver those important things.

I have always been client-focused. On leaving higher education I worked in management in the retail industry helping to build trust with customers where I learned a great deal about communication and working with people. I then entered the finance industry back in 2014 with Nationwide Building Society and began giving advice to clients in 2015 starting as a mortgage adviser before gaining my qualification in financial advice.

I moved to Stirling in 2013 with my wife Emma. Leaving our home town behind we quickly settled and welcomed a new addition to the family, our dog Eden. Emma and I love the outdoors and spend our weekends exploring the country. I also love golf and can often be found in the rough searching for my ball.
