Caring Homes

Imagine. A place where you’ll always feel at home with the reassurance of discreet help and support when you need it. Always with the promise you’ll be in safe hands.

A home where you can be as independent as you choose. Everything is designed with your enjoyment, health and well-being in mind. Each day is yours to fill just the way you like it. Enjoy a picnic and tuck into homemade scones in the garden, savour an ice cream with lashings of sauce whilst taking in the live entertainment or dress to impress for an afternoon tea dance.

We know that the life of every person we care for is extraordinary. So we take the time to learn about each resident and work with you and your family to discover what really matters to you. A place to meet like minded hobbyists and film enthusiasts for comedy and classics or why not try something you’ve never done. If you prefer quieter moments with a cuppa and a favourite novel, the choice is yours.

You can cook, help out in the garden, pop to the local shops or have a pub lunch with a sherry or a pint. Imagine a place where you can carry on with the kind of everyday routines that matter to you.

By getting to know you personally we help you live your life to the fullest.

Providing excellent care for the elderly or unwell, and helping them and their families enjoy their time together at one of the most challenging times of their lives, is a vitally important service and a privilege to deliver.

To give you peace of mind, we offer a free health and wellbeing assessment which covers medical and health needs, exercise and activity, nutrition, and emotional well-being. We get to know you including your interests, your life, your family and even the small things, like how many pillows you have or how you take your tea, so things stay just the way you like it.

This assessment forms a personal care plan and is constantly updated to help residents stay independent and healthy as their needs or wishes change. If you’re a little unsure of the type of care you need, we’re happy to help with the details.

Avery Healthcare Group

Avery Healthcare is a premium care provider in the senior living sector in the UK, with a current portfolio of 56 care homes with several new developments in build. Avery is also in the independent living retirement sector, with 4 high end properties already in operation and more planned.

Avery was founded by John Strowbridge and Ian Matthews, who between them have over 50 years’ experience in the sector and who are supported by a team of forward thinking directors and senior management. Avery has a longstanding reputation for innovation in the design and development of care homes, attracting global market investment into its assets, and creating a benchmark that many other care providers covet. The company has established a reputation for delivering high quality homes with imaginative design led solutions and richly furnished interiors, resulting in a strong foothold in the private market.

Managing Director John Strowbridge said, “Care operators have a responsibility to deliver the best possible for the older generation. It’s not good enough just to meet guidelines – operators need to continuously strive to improve their buildings, services, and quality of care, and they need to invest in their people as well. Avery is so committed to this that we spent two years designing our own Apprenticeship and Training Scheme. We wanted to create a team that embodied the Avery ethos, so we ensure our people receive the best possible ongoing coaching and development; it’s not only good for the business, it’s good for both the staff and the residents as well, by creating a motivated culture that delivers a positive way of life for those living in our homes.”

As well as luxury buildings and professional staff, Avery also pays attention to all the other factors that make for the best in retirement living and care, so that residents live a fulfilled and as normal as life as possible. Each care home has restaurant quality dining rooms on each floor, with service to table by uniformed staff; a team of professionally trained chefs in commercial standard kitchens ensures the best at these important social times of the day.

Well-being is another priority, and Avery has a comprehensive program that covers the physical, psychological, social, and nutritional needs of the residents. All Homes have a busy schedule of recreational and leisure activities, both indoor and outdoor, as well as regular outings to local garden centres, pubs, and educational trips. Residents also want to still feel a part of the community, so links with local schools, colleges and social groups are also established at each location, as well as with associations such as the Alzheimer’s Society, Dementia Friends, and Attend. All homes have cafés for residents to use throughout the day, open to visiting family and friends, with some homes even boasting private dining rooms where residents can entertain.

Technology is also right up to date, with free Wi-Fi for all residents and visitors, and systems for the residents to use to keep in contact with friends and family throughout the country and world via social media and Skype.
